HISTORY
A Rich History ….
From 1936-1947 a dedicated group of Christians worshiped together at a small brick and sandstone church on Genoa Rd. (formerly a schoolhouse). God blessed the church, the congregation grew, and a larger church was needed. Construction of new church on Lincoln Way St. was begun. A cornerstone bearing the date of construction was incorporated into the NW corner.
On September 7, 1947, Bishop H. Lester Smith and Rev. Hammond blessed the
opening of the new church and all celebrated. A large circular stained
glass window, with a dove of peace in the center, graced the front of the
sanctuary. Over the years the surrounding stained glass has been replaced,
but the dove has remained. September 7, 1997, marks the 50th anniversary
of our present sanctuary. What a blessing to worship the Lord as a
